The project, “xhyolynx,” will begin with a single set for release May 15.
The two x’s stand for collaboration, and illustrate Hyolyn’s efforts to expand her musical horizons by joining hands with other artists. Hyolyn wrote and composed the first single with Melanie Fontana, who wrote the lyrics to the BTS song “Boy With Luv.”
The former main vocalist of four-piece girl group Sistar has struck out on her own and established an entertainment company, Bridge, with a handful of creative directors.
She proved herself as a solo vocalist last year with the three-part project “Set Up Time” and will embark on her first global solo tour, “True,” May 29.

Jo Yuri, Kim Chae-won and Choi Yena began the segment with cute expressions.
“Why do people say we look alike?” asked Yena.
“Perhaps not up close but from afar, maybe,” said Chaewon, smiling.
“I am trying to write a song these days. I will complete one as soon as I can and let you hear it. I also am practicing guitar. I want to show you something, so wait just a while,” Yuri told her fans.
“This is our final music program appearance for ‘Violeta,’” said Yabuki Nako, giving the band a pat on the back and thanking the fans for their support.
“It feels as if it has ended much sooner than it did for ‘La Vie en Rose,’” added Miyawaki Sakura.

Woohyun of Infinite shared his feelings about finishing a musical and resuming his solo singing career.

“I just finished the final performance of ‘The Days’ and I’m on my way to practice. … I’m proud and wistful at the same time. I had a great time, though, and learned so much,” he said of the jukebox musical based on the timeless songs of the late Kim Gwang-seok.
The performer played Mooyoung, part of the presidential security service. His favorite line, he said in response to a fan’s question, was, “Haven’t you heard something just now? My life has been shaken!”
He went on to sing songs and recite lines from the musical.
Fans also asked about “A New Journey,” his third solo EP.
“Yes, it will be released tomorrow,” said Woohyun, asking fans if they’d seen the teaser. “This time the music will be in a completely different style and you will even get to see me dancing, although I am not so good,” he said.

ITZY departs for Vuitton fashion show at JFK
ITZY was seen at Incheon International Airport, leaving for New York to attend the Louis Vuitton 2020 cruise collection show on May 8.

All five members of the girl group were camera-ready as soon as they exited their van, with each one sporting a Louis Vuitton bag. Instead of dressing head to toe in the French megabrand, however, they confidently mixed and matched items.
Lia wore a hooded sweatshirt over an LV-monogrammed miniskirt, while Yuna paired thigh-high boots with ripped denim shorts. Ryujin and Yeji went for oversized jackets, and Chaeryeong was the most demure in long white pants.
The band was invited to the show at the former TWA Flight Center at John F. Kennedy International Airport. The historic landmark has been converted into a hotel and will officially open to the public May 15.
This is the first international fashion event the rookie girl group will attend.
