‘The Villainess’ receives standing ovation at Cannes
“The Villainess” was met with a standing ovation after its Cannes premiere Monday, according to reports.
The audience stood, clapped and cheered for the film for some four minutes at the Lumiere Theater.

Director Jung Byung-gil’s film, which was invited for the midnight screenings category, kicked off with a 10-minute long action sequence that incited cheers from the audience from the beginning, reports said.
Director Jung hugged each of the actors present after the screening, while the film’s lead actress Kim Ok-vin waved to the audience.
