K-pop’s top girl crush groups in 2016
You don’t have to be a fanboy to have a crush on female stars. You know you’ve had at least one idol star you fell in love with. They’re beautiful, charming and almost always look perfect.
Here are our picks for your girl crush in 2016.
1. GFriend
GFriend (OSEN) |
Six-member rookie girl group GFriend debuted last year, winning numerous awards with their hit songs “Glass Bead” and “Me Gustas Tu.”
On Monday, they made their comeback with “Rough,” the main song from their seven-track EP “Snowflake,” keeping their schoolgirl uniform fashion.
Already, the song has scored big on major online music charts, an impressive performance for a rookie team.
2. Mamamoo
Mamamoo (OSEN) |
Mamamoo is known for having more female fans than male fans. The idol stars on Friday released the new single “I Miss You,” ahead of their full-track album next month.
It is only very recently that they started to gain public attention, after performing on KBS “Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend.” Mamamoo also notched up an unusual winning streak as artists represented by a small agency with “Um Oh Ah Yeh,” which helped girls build a strong fandom.
3. Yezi
Yezi (YouTube) |
Yezi of Fiestar is an artist who benefited the most from starring in Mnet’s “Unpretty Rapstar 2” last year.
Her down to earth character and bad girl-vibe are the reasons why female fans so often fall in love with her.
Her maxi single “Foresight Dram” has been the subject of much online buzz this week, with its teaser video
4. 4Minute
4Minute (OSEN) |
To most K-pop fans, the term “girl crush” began with 4Minute female fans calling themselves by the name.
The group is releasing a 7th EP, “Act.7” on Monday, which is widely expected to include more hip-hop songs from the group that will live up to its “Crazy” popularity last year.
