Korean girl group Crayon Pop’s Choa will take part in a musical production called “Princess Deokhye.”
From April 3 to June 28, “Princess Deokhye” will be showcased at SH Art Hall in Hyehwa-dong, Seoul, in commemoration of South Korea’s 70th year of independence from Japanese colonial rule.
Crayon Pop’s Choa and veteran actress Mun Hye-young were double-cast for the lead role of Deokhye, for which they will also act out the double role of Jeonghye, daughter of Deokhye.
Mun, 15 years senior to Choa and the scriptwriter of the musical herself, had previous experience in the 2013 and 2014 productions of “Princess Deokhye.”

This will be Choa’s first time to be in a musical, although the singer is said to have always harbored dreams of starring in a musical.
“Princess Deokhye” is about a mother, Deokhye, who tries to overcome the hardships of a life ruined by militarism, through her love of her family.
The piece puts the family values in the spotlight.
