K-pop girl group 4Minute confirmed on Friday that one of its upcoming singles will be a ballad.

4Minute will return to the music scene in February with two lead singles.

“Cold Rain,” one of the singles, will be the first ballad lead single for the five-member girl group since its debut in 2009.


Through the mellow song, the quintet seeks to depart from its cheerful, girly image and show its feminine side.

The other title track is not yet known.

“Cold Rain” will be released online on Jan. 26.
