Seohyun, a member of the K-pop girl group Girls' Generation, thanked fellow singer-actress Bada at the "Gone with the Wind" news conference on Tuesday. Both idol singers portray Scarlett O'Hara in the musical, which opened on Friday at Seoul Arts Center's Opera House.

Seohyun, Girls' Generation's "magnae (youngest member)," said that she appreciated discussing the musical with other actors and actresses during production. She said, "My seniors helped me a lot, so rehearsals were enjoyable. I particularly want to thank Bada, who gave me a lot of support. Whenever we had time together, we would analyze Scarlett's character and we still continue talking about her even after our practices together."

"Gone with the Wind," directed by Yu Hui-seong, is based on the successful 2003 French production "Autant en emporte le vent." The same musical writers produced "Les Dix Commandments," "Mozart L'Opera Rock" and "Romeo & Juliette," which were all adapted for the Korean stage to great success. "Gone with the Wind" retells the classic tale by Margaret Mitchell, published in 1936, about a young woman caught in the upheavals of the American Civil War.

This is the first time the musical has been staged in Korea. "Gone with the Wind" runs from Jan. 9 to Feb. 15. For tickets and further information, visit www.musicalgwtw.co.kr.
