Kim Soo-hyun tops Tokyo film award

Hallyu top star Kim Soo-hyun won the Best Actor in Asia Award in this year’s Tokyo International Film Festival on Thursday.

The Korean heartthrob walked down the red carpet in the Japanese top film awarding event that took place in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo.

Kim was recognized for his hit dramas and films, including MBC’s television rom-com series “My Love from the Star” and film “Secretly, Greatly (2013),” which earned him the title of top hallyu star.

Running from Oct. 23-31, the Tokyo International Film Festival 2014 kicked off with Disney animation film “Big Hero 6,” directed by Don Hall and Chris Williams. The festival will close with “Parasyte (Kiseju): Part 1,” a Japanese film that was cinematized after the popular Japanese graphic novel “Kiseju.”
