Actor Kim Soo-hyun has become an honorary ambassador of Seoul, according to its agency on Wednesday.

“Kim has been selected as Seoul’s honorary ambassador. This was possible thanks to the actor’s rising popularity through SBS drama ‘My Love from the Star’ and other productions,” the agency said. “Kim was happy to accept the offer.”

As an honorary ambassador for the city, the 26-year-old hallyu star will participate in many cultural events.

Earlier this month, the actor received the grand prize in the 2014 Korea Drama Awards for starring in “My Love from the Star.”
